Visit by Teachers of the Shri Ram School
On 14 March, 2023, a team of special educators from The Shri Ram School paid a visit to the Blind Relief Association. The team had the opportunity to explore the various units of the association and gain first-hand experience of their operations. In addition to the tour, the team engaged in interactive sessions and discussions with Mr. David Absolom, Deputy Executive Secretary (Operations). These sessions provided a platform for educators to gain valuable insights into the unique teaching methodologies and assistive technologies utilized at the Association. 
Visit to Amrit Udyan
The trainees undergoing Multi Skill Training at the Blind Relief Association, Delhi were given a unique opportunity to explore the exquisite Amrit Udyan, which was previously known as the Mughal Gardens, situated in the Rashtrapati Bhawan. They were thrilled to meet the esteemed President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, who warmly greeted them. 
 
On 29 March 2023, the Union Ministry of Social Justice organized a special visit for approximately 13,000 people with disabilities, who were invited to witness the beauty of Amrit Udyan. The entire place was made accessible for everyone, including the provision of Braille books and audio recordings that described the gardens. Moreover, Braille boards were put up to explain the various plants and flowers that adorned the place.

The President was delighted to interact with the trainees and offered them words of encouragement, urging them to pursue their studies and focus on their careers. The trainees were overwhelmed by the experience and felt deeply grateful for this incredible opportunity. 
Farewell to Class XII Students
The Class XII students of the JPM Senior Secondary School were given a warm farewell on 3 April 2023 by the school teachers and staff of the Association.

The School Principal and others from the leadership team shared their best wishes with the students, while the students expressed their gratitude to the school and the Association.
Partnership with Homeo Amigo
The Association is very grateful to Homoeo Amigo for coming forward to provide free and regular healthcare treatment to the students and trainees of the Blind Relief Association. In the first week of April, Dr. Sakshi Chauhan visited the Association's infirmary and also handed over the medicines donated by Homoeo Amigo.
 
Certificate Distribution at Blossom Kochhar
On 13 April, to honor the remarkable achievements of the female massage trainees, certificates were distributed at Blossom Kochhar's head office in Shahpur Jat. Guided by the expertise of professionals from Blossom Kochhar, these trainees underwent rigorous training and successfully passed a test showcasing their proficiency in Aroma Massage Therapy.  It was a celebration of the trainees' unwavering determination to excel in the field of massage therapy and the invaluable partnership with Blossom Kochhar's team.
Exam Results – Diploma in Computer Education (V.I.)

The results for the Diploma in Computer Education (Visual Impairment) of the eighth batch were announced on 17 April 2023 by the NIEPVD (National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities). 

Sumit Mahto and Vandana Mandi stood first and second respectively in the batch, both passing with distinction. In this batch of 16 trainees, seven other trainees – Zenab, Harshit, Kanchan, Love, Shahid, Sunil, and Jyoti passed with First Division. The full results are available on the Association's website.

Free  Eye Check-ups 
Regular eye check-ups are important for maintaining good eye health and detecting any potential problems at an early stage. Eye-7 Hospital conducted a free eye check-up for the students, trainees, and staff of the Blind Relief Association on 21 April. 
Cricket Match with Shri Ram School, Aravali & Transworld
The Multi-Skill trainees from the Blind Relief Association had an exciting opportunity on 27 April to participate in a friendly cricket match with Shri Ram School, Aravali. The teams consisted of male and female students from both institutions, with an interesting twist to level the playing field. Students from Aravali were blindfolded to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all. The match was a riveting one, with both teams fighting for victory till the very last ball! The event ended with new friendships, learning experiences, and memories that will last us a long time. 

The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed principal, Ms. Sapna Dimri, who generously presented a token of best wishes to David Absolom, Deputy Executive Secretary (Operations) of the Blind Relief Association. This gesture symbolized the support and encouragement extended by Shri Ram School, Aravali, towards the trainees and their endeavors.

Parallelly on the same day, TransWorld Group observed its Corporate Responsibility Day by collaborating with the Blind Relief Association for a memorable cricket match. Recognizing the significance of engaging in sports and promoting inclusivity, Transworld Group organized the friendly cricket match as a part of its CSR initiative. The event brought together 40 vocational trainees and 15 staff members, creating a vibrant atmosphere of friendship and unity on the cricket field. 
Class X & XII Results 
The Class XII students of the JPM Senior Secondary School cleared their CBSE Board exams with flying colors. Rudransh Rastogi stood first in the school with 91.6%, followed by Aviral Pratap Singh at 89.2% and Damodar Rawat at 88.6% in the CBSE Board Exams for 2022-23. The boys have also scored 54 individual subject distinctions.

The School also secured a cent percent result in the Class X CBSE Board exams this year. The toppers of the school were Prashant Chaudhary 86%, Ankit Bansal 83.8 %, and Ayush Kumar Singh 82.4 %. 

The vocational trainees also performed exceptionally well in their Class X & Class XII board exams. This year, 5 trainees cleared Class X and 6 trainees cleared Class XII in addition to taking vocational training and mastering various skills at the Association. The Association would like to thank
Youth 4 Jobs Foundation for it's guidance and support to the trainees.
Obituary
With profound grief and sorrow, we mourn the sad demise of Brigadier V.K. Chawla, Life Member and former Joint Secretary of the Association, and former Manager of JPM Sr. Sec. School. He passed away at his residence on the morning of 3 April.

The Blind Relief Association offers heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prays to God Almighty to grant eternal peace and solace to the departed soul and give strength & courage to the grieving family to bear this irreparable loss.
