Kizuna 2019
Autumn is a festival time in India. Joining this season of festivities the Centre for Japanese Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University hosted KIZUNA 2019 its annual Japanese Cultural Festival on 27 & 28 September 2019. The Sawaru Nihongo (Touch Japanese) Group made an impressive presence in this mega event organized by the University with the support of The Embassy of Japan, The Japan Foundation and the Japanese Association, Delhi and others.
The Group choir presented a popular Japanese song “Shiki no Uta” and a bilingual version in Hindi and Japanese of “Saare Jahaan Se Achhaa” which received loud applause from the audience. The Group also took the opportunity to tell the audience about about Japanese Tenji (Braille), the touch script they are using to learn the language.
The members of the Sawaru Nihongo Group also had an opportunity to observe other cultural performances and interact with Japanese learners from different institutions and lovers in Delhi.
