Sri Kailash Chandra Pande, trained as an engineer, a historian by education, and a Japanese language enthusiast has diverse interests and experiences.
The bond with the Blind Relief Association started almost 50 years ago, when as an engineer Sri Pande managed the construction of the Gandhi Hall in 1967. He has been a member of the Managing Committee since 1990s and after retiring from the Japanese Embassy in 2005, he has been holding the position of Hony. Executive Secretary in the Blind Relief Association, Delhi. He holds the position of the Manager, JPM Senior Secondary School as well. He is also ex-officio member, Governing Body, Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education, University of Delhi.
He has been actively involved in the promotion sports for the blind since 2002, having served as the General Secretary and Vice Chairman of Indian Blind Sports Association.He was the Chief of Mission of the Indian team to various international blind sports championships held at Quebec, Brazil, Turkey and the U.S.A.
On a lighter note, Sri Pande is an avid reader, ardent traveler and a classical vocalist.
