Having graduated in Commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai Smt. Benu Nath worked in the family business of medical and hospital equipment.

She has been a member of the Managing Committee for the past 12 years and serves as a Trustee and the Hony. General Secretary of the Association. Simultaneously she serves as the Chairperson of JPM Senior Secondary School for the Blind and is a member of the Governing Body of Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education. Furthermore, she also serves as the Vice- Chairperson of the Indian Blind Sports Association.

As a social worker, she has served the Blind Relief Association through various roles besides having done voluntary work at Friends of Vrindavan, at Mathura, UP.

Her other interests include travelling, handicrafts and reading.
