Abhishek Thakur is working as a Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Work, University of Delhi. He holds an M.Phil and Master’s Degree from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai India. He is also an alumnus of the Prestigious St. Stephens College, University of Delhi.

Besides being a Member of the Association, he is also in the Governing Body of the National Association for the Blind, Delhi, India. He is a member of an expert committee on Disability Employment set up by the Government of Delhi, India. Currently, he is an expert member of the Labour Department, Govt of NCT of Delhi. He served as a member of the Task Force Committee, National Skill Development Corporation, Government of India. He worked as a Research Officer in SCORE Foundation, Delhi, an NGO working for persons with visual disabilities.

­He has successfully completed various research projects on Community Based Rehabilitation and Sustainable Livelihood Framework in collaboration with CBM, an international organization working majorly in the field of disability. He also published research papers on different issues such as employment and disability, water and health, skill development, etc.
