Felicitation Ceremony for Delhi athletes
Six visually impaired Indian athletes qualified by the Paralympic Committee of India were favoured to participate in the World Para Athletics Junior Championship to be held in Nottwil, Switzerland from 1-4 August 2019.
The athletes are,
Rakshitha Raju, Karnataka – 1500m
Sharath M. S, Karnataka – 1500m
Munna Kumar Rajak, Delhi – 400m, 800m
Madan, Delhi – 100m, 200m
Manish Kumar, Delhi – 400m, 800m, 1500m
Govind Kumar, Delhi – 1500m, Shot Put
Amarjeet Singh – Guide Runner (Madan)
A pre-event felicitation ceremony was held at the Blind Relief Association (B.R.A), Delhi on 26 July and sports kits sponsored by Indian Blind Sports Association (IBSA) and the B.R.A were handed over to the athletes. Radhika Bharat Ram, Chairperson IBSA and Mrs.Benu Nath, Hony General Secretary B.R.A, along with the other officials of IBSA and the B.R.A. graced the occasion. The four athletes from Delhi along with the chief coach of IBSA Dr. Satyapal Singh were present.
