Janmashtami Celebrations
The occasion on 24 August was Janmashtami according to the calendar, but in the Blind Relief Association the festivities started a day earlier with the 24-hour mass recitation of the Ramcharitmanas resounding in the Gandhi Hall of the Blind Relief Association 1978. Recitation of Ramcharitmanas on this occasion is a unique tradition started by the students of JPM School way back in 1978.
While the gathering of alumni has become an unsaid regular event on Janmashtami every year, this year saw the largest number come together – around 150 alumni in addition to the present students and trainees of the Association.
Janmashtami is the biggest of the three festivals organized by the students, the other two being Shivaratri and Basant Panchami.
No invitations, no advertisements and no special hospitality, yet for the sheer love for B.R.A., the alumni continue to visit us every year to relive those golden moments of their lives.
