Ranjit Puri, is a Life Trustee and Vice President of The Blind Relief Association, Delhi and Chairman of its sister body, the Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education, Delhi.

He received a degree in Industrial Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, U.S.A and is the Chairman of Isgec Heavy Engineering Ltd. The company has seven Subsidiaries & Joint Ventures that includes Saraswati Sugar Mills Ltd., Yamunanagar, Isgec Hitachi Zosen Ltd among others. Some of Isgec’s major product verticals include – Process Equipment, EPC Projects, Boilers, Sugar Plants & Machinery, Presses, Castings, and Air Pollution Control Equipment

Sri Ranjit Puri was the President of Sugar Technologists’ Association of India from 1980 to 1982. He was elected President of Indian Sugar Mills Association in 2007-08 and earlier served as Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Association. He was Chairman of The Indian Sugar Exim Corporation of the Association.

He was the Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (Northern Region) and also chaired several CII National Committees. He was Chairman of the CII Iran office and led a trade mission to the country. He led a CII trade mission to Bhutan and also led the CII Co-generation Technology Mission to the United States.
